When it rains… it snows?

Perhaps I’m missing something? Everyone (including the self-deprecating Brits) told me not to move to England. Why? Because of the weather.

“It rains every day!” they said.

“It’s cold in the summer and warm in the winter” they said.

“It hardly ever snows!” they said.

Dude. They were so wrong.

We had the most glorious summer! It was beautiful and sunny almost every day until the end of October. We went punting whenever we wanted and never got caught out in the rain unexpectedly. Do you know I carried an umbrella with me every day for weeks when I first got here? Why? because everyone says it rains constantly.

They’re lying… the weather is gorgeous.

Oh, and just when I thought I’d had them all figured out… it started to snow. “It doesn’t snow in England!” I said… (clearly I thought the snow would amount to a quarter inch and everyone would freak out). This time I was wrong. The place IS totally shut down, but there’s like 8 inches of snow on the ground. I can’t really blame them!
